Wythenshawe residents invited to share their experiences of activities and events in the area. This anonymous survey takes around five minutes to complete and will help inform future plans. Whether you usually take part or not, your input is really valued.
Forum Library’s Creative Space, funded by the Arts Council, aims to enhance Wythenshawe's cultural scene. This project expands the library facilities – increasing community access to creative opportunities and boosting the local cultural infrastructure.
Creative Space provides accessible cultural activities such as live music, podcasting, music production, and stage performance. Developed through consultations with young people, the program focuses on inclusive and engaging youth provision.
This space represents the start of Wythenshawe's creative regeneration, complemented by the proposed Culture Hub development in the town centre – supported by the Government's levelling up fund.
Wythenshawe Rising
Creative Space partners Liveinshawe and Wythenshawe Youth Theatre are featured in Wythenshawe Rising – a documentary exploring Wythenshawe's vibrant creative landscape, featuring the voices and stories of local artists, musicians, and cultural pioneers who are shaping the future of this dynamic community.
Music production and podcast studio
Creative Space has a music production studio equipped with a Pioneer DJ DDJ-400 Rekordbox Controller for any budding DJ’s.
For top quality podcasts and music production, the gallery is acoustically treated and sound proofed.

The Podcasting Studio is free to use for community groups, local charities, non-profit and community interest companies. For commercial groups there is be a nominal fee.

Creative Space staff provide inductions for all equipment within the podcast suite and studio space.
Community group Happy Somedays run a football team and fitness sessions, and champion mental health support for the community. Their podcast puts the spotlight on local people who go above and beyond for the community. [link: The Happy Somedays Podcast | Podcast on Spotify].
Paul and Steve Hanley from the infamous Manchester post-punk group The Fall grew up in Wythenshawe and have been huge advocates for the Creative Space. Their podcast [link Oh! Brother - Hosted by Paul and Steve Hanley] shares tales from their time in the band, along with interviews with other band members, people involved with the band, and fans from the world of music and beyond.

performance space
Are you looking for the right venue to stage a creative performance, interested in starting a theatre group, or creating a programme of events – but unable to access the funds?
Creative Space supports community organisations and charities to achieve sustainable aims… the performance area is ideal for small to mid-level performances for audiences of up to 150 seated or 200 standing. The space offers flexible seating arrangements – auditorium, banquet, chevron, and classroom style – making it suitable for a variety of performances and presentations.
Equipment summary:
- Flexible staging can be reconfigured easily to support different activities – even a runway for fashion shows. The stage accommodates a full band including drumkit, keyboard, guitar, bass, and vocalist
- Integrated lighting system with lighting desk
- Bluetooth activated speakers with 16 recessed ceiling speakers and sub-woofer
- Yamaha TF1 digital mixing desk
interactive workspace
Creative Space also has a self-contained, interactive workspace for workshops, meetings, and creative uses.
Activities are supported by Clevertouch IMPACT 75" Gen2 – more than just an interactive touchscreen, it is feature-rich and delivers intuitive and collaborative working.
The workspace has capacity for 20 people with flexible table and seating to accommodate different room arrangements.
