Wythenshawe Forum Trust Ltd was established in September 2002 to provide the strategic leadership for the Forum redevelopment project.
The Trust is a Company Limited by Guarantee. This makes it what is known as a Non Profit Distributing Organisation, which means any profit it makes must be reinvested in the service rather than distributed to shareholders.
In fact Wythenshawe Forum Trust has no shareholders. It is run by a board of twelve directors or trustees, all of whom are unpaid. A small, executive team made up of the Chief Executive and a Finance & Administration Assistant supports the board.
The Trust's initial role was to provide the strategic leadership for the £20 million Forum redevelopment project, which is now largely complete.
To allow it to do this the Trust was granted a 25-year lease on the building by Manchester City Council. The Trust administers the site through a variety of contracts, agencies and tenancy agreements.
The long-term role of the Trust is to promote joint working between the various agencies providing services across the Forum.
The Trust is funded from a variety of sources including a grant from Manchester City Council, rents and sales income. The Trust's accounts can be accessed below.
Wythenshawe Forum Trust is supported in its objective by its partner organisations, City College Manchester, Manchester Airport plc, Manchester City Council, Manchester Primary Care Trust and Willow Park Housing Trust. See links below.
