Not been in a Library for a long time? Come and see the difference. Forum Library is bright and spacious with something for everyone, all the things you would expect to see and perhaps a few you wouldn't:
Relaxing areas
Browse through our books, magazines and newspapers while relaxing in easy chairs.
Computers and I.T.
We have many new computers in the Forum Library - which members can use *free of charge for one hour per day! Staff are on hand to make sure you get most out of the computers. So you can surf the net, send e-mails, book more computer time, search the Library catalogue or book that CD you've been looking for.
*£1 per hour after first hour.
The door to the Town Hall is also open at the Forum Library. Use our Sorted area to access a range of useful council services, from finding a home, a job or childcare to requesting a repair, a graffiti removal or an OFSTED report for your child's school. You can even check your benefit and tax credit entitlements. It's easy to do and our staff will help you get started if you're new to computers. If you prefer, you can also phone the council from our special freephone. Save some time and really get things sorted at the Forum Library.
School and Teen Zone
We have a new, refurbished homework centre on the ground floor with Library staff on hand to help you study. After you've finished your study work why not relax in the teen area of the Library. Its full of PlayStation games, computers, music and magazines. There's even a PlayStation console to try the games out on.
Music, Films and Games
There's a huge music and film library on the ground floor packed with CDs, DVDs, CD-ROMs and PlayStation games.
Kids Library
We have a wonderful bright Children's Library, where you can browse the book shelves, find information, share a story together or join in our many organised activities for children, including reading groups. You'll also find computers with filtered internet access.
Reference & Information Areas
On the first floor are resources for local and family history searches, job searches or searches for general information. As well as the popular computer based learning centre and computers you can book in advance to search the Internet or send e-mails.
