Wythenshawe Forum Trust is run by a board of twelve directors or trustees, all of whom are unpaid. The board is made up partly from representatives of our partner organisations and partly from Wythenshawe people active in the local community. All bring valuable experience to the Trust.


Joyce Airey

Joyce Airey represents the local community on our Board.  A resident of Woodhouse Park, Joyce has been active in the local community for many years.  She is also a Tenant Board Member of Willow Park Housing Trust.

    

Julie Armstrong

Julie Armstrong is Vice Chair of the Trust and represents one of our partner organisations, Manchester Airport Plc on the Board. A member of the Charter Institute of Personnel and Development, Julie has many years experience with companies such as Manpower, Barclays Bank, Marconi Telecommuications  and BAE Systems, and now through her role as HR Director at the Airport, brings the perspective of the areas largest employer to the Board

Ash Bahkat

Dr Ash Bakhat represents the Health Service on our Board. He has worked as a GP in the Wythenshawe Area for many years, firstly at Peel Hall Medical Centre then more recently from the new Forum Health centre, a development he was instrumental in bringing about.

Keith Barnes

Keith Barnes
Keith Barnes is an independent member of our Board.  A Mancunian by birth Keith is a former elected member of Manchester City Council, where he represented a Wythenshawe ward and Chaired Manchester Airport plc.  Keith is Regional Director of the Government Office for the North West (GONW) a post he has held since July 2000.  He was formerly Chief Executive of Thurrock Council in Essex where his most notable achievement was the creation of unitary Thurrock in 1998.  Before joining Thurrock in 1990 Keith worked as a consultant for Coopers & Lybrand.    

Monica Box

Monica Box represents City College Manchester, one of our partner organisations, on the Board.  She is Principal of the College.  Monica has thirty years experience in education and training having begun her career as a teacher in a Manchester comprehensive school.  She later worked within the City of Manchester Youth and Community Service before taking up leadership and management posts in further education


Cllr Glynn Evans

Glynn Evans
Cllr Glynn Evans is one of two Board members representing Manchester City Council, one of our partner organisations. He is an elected member of Manchester City Council, representing Brooklands ward and is Chair of The Council's Wythenshawe Area Committee and a member of the Licensing & Appeals and Social Strategy committees.

Matthew Fox

Matthew Fox
Matthew Fox is Chair of the Trust and represents the local community on our Board. He is a resident of Newall Green and is Chair of the Governors of St Peter's Catholic Primary School and an active member of his local Catholic Church.

Brenda Grixti

Brenda Grixti
Brenda Grixti represents the local community on our Board. She has been a resident of Wythenshawe since the 1960's and currently lives in Benchill. Employed as Co-ordinator for Benchill Community Centre she has been heavily involved in the voluntary sector for many years.

Steve License

Steve License represents Willow Park Housing Trust, one of our partner organisations, on the Board.  Willow Park owns and manages nearly 8000 homes in the area and Steve is their Director of Neighbourhood Services.

John Matson

John Matson represents the community on our Board. He is a resident of Wythenshawe having, a home in Woodhouse Park. John is employed by a Leisure Trust and has many years' experience with sport and leisure, events and childcare which he also brings to the Board.

Eamonn O'Rourke

Eamonn O’Rourke represents Manchester City Council, one of our partner organisations, on the Board. He acts as the alternate Director for Richard Paver. Eamonn is Head of Leisure with the City and lends his experience in Sport and Leisure to the Board.  . He was responsible for setting up the Leisure Trust which is responsible for the management and operation of the City’s Community Leisure Centres and the World Class Manchester Aquatics Centre, and worked on the highly successful Commonwealth Games held in Manchester in 2002.

Richard Paver

Richard Paver
Richard Paver is one of two Board members representing Manchester City Council, one of our partner organisations. Richard is the City Treasurer with Manchester City Council and is also on the Board of the Manchester 50 Pool Trust which manages a number of Leisure Centres across the City.

Joyce Quayle

Joyce Quayle
Joyce Quayle represents the local community on our Board. Joyce is a resident of Crossacres. Retired, she has been actively involved in the local community for many years. She is a former Board member of Willow Park Housing Trust.

Nigel Wilson

Nigel Wilson is an independent member of our Board.  Nigel is Chief Executive of Parkway Green Housing Trust and has over 21 years of housing experience. He was a housing co-operative tenant and activist before working as a housing officer for housing associations and local councils. He worked in tenant participation and resident engagement before specialising in new business and regeneration. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Housing and vice-chair of the Community Gateway Association in Preston.

Jeff Staniforth

Jeff Staniforth joined the Trust as Chief Executive in December 2007 following a long and successful career with Manchester City Council, latterly working as Deputy Head of Leisure Services with responsibility for both indoor and outdoor leisure. While working with the department, his proudest moment was to take the 'Park Service' to number one in the country for Green Flag awards.

Following study at teacher training college, Jeff chose a career in 'leisure' and still enjoys utilising his training and development skills. He is a qualified Local Government Management Development Advisor and also holds professional qualifications in Leisure Management.

Wythenshawe born and bred, Jeff's ambition is to move Wythenshawe Forum services from good to excellent in all areas and to ensure that the facilities are accessible and enjoyed by more and more people.
